Passengers were stranded at Logan Airport over the weekend as dozens of flights were diverted to Boston due to severe weather.

Hurricane Debby made landfall in Florida on Monday morning. As many as 25 flights were forced to land at Logan on Sunday due to inclement weather, and the airport could not provide gate, fuel, or aircraft service for the extra flights crowding the tarmac, reported nbcboston.com.

Some passengers told nbcboston.com that they were stuck on planes for as long as six hours, slept in the airport, and can’t get home until Tuesday.

There were 544 delays and 208 cancellations at Logan Airport on Sunday, according to flight tracking service FlightAware. As of 9:30 a.m. on Monday, there were 111 delays and 58 cancellations at Logan.

Massport posted a weather advisory on X on Monday morning, writing: “Due to Hurricane Debby, flights in and out of the southeastern US may be impacted over the next few days. If planning to travel to this region please check with your airline.”

Massport had a similar message for travelers on Sunday.

JetBlue, Logan Airport’s largest carrier, is waiving change fees and fare differences for customers traveling Aug. 4 between several cities, including Boston, the airline posted in an alert. Customers can rebook flights for travel through Aug. 7 online in the manage trips section of jetblue.com before the departure time of the originally scheduled flight. Customers with cancelled flights can get a refund to the original form of payment. Original travel must have been booked on or before Aug. 3.

United Airlines will waive change fees and fare differences for flights purchased on or before Aug. 2 for travel between Aug. 3-5, the airline wrote in a travel notice. The airline listed the impacted cities, including Boston. The new flight must depart between Aug. 2-10 and tickets must be in the same cabin and between the original cities booked.

American Airlines customers can change their trip without paying a change fee, the airline wrote in a travel alert that listed impacted cities, including Boston. The change fee is waived in any fare class if travelers bought the ticket by Aug. 3, are scheduled to travel Aug. 4-5, can travel between Aug. 4-8, and don’t change their origin or destination city. Changes must be booked by Aug. 5.
