Suspect crashes into wall while fleeing from police in Pico Rivera

A pursuit suspect was found trapped in a stolen vehicle after crashing into a wall in Pico Rivera Monday morning.

The chase began after Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies spotted the stolen vehicle in the city of Commerce around 12:45 a.m.

Deputies backed off from the pursuit but found the suspect had crashed the vehicle into a wall in Pico Rivera shortly before 1 a.m., Deputy Koerner confirmed to KTLA.

The driver was found unconscious and taken into custody, Koerner said.

Video from the scene showed the suspect appeared to be awake as he was being put into an ambulance at the scene.

The identity of the suspect has not been released.

A passenger may have also been inside the vehicle at the time of the crash but fled the scene, freelance media firm KNN reported.
