Someone who went to the Orange County Fair is now a millionaire

Imagine going to the fair and walking away with a million dollars.

Well, that’s what one lucky player did, according to California Lottery officials.

The player – who has not yet come forward – won the prize after buying a Multiplier Craze Scratchers ticket from the CA Lottery LIVE! booth at the Orange County Fair.

The booth is a partnership between the state lottery and a lucky retailer chosen by officials; the lucky retailer in question at this year’s fair is 5 Star Liquor in Westminster.

According to 5 Star Liquor owner Maysa Dagher, a man showed “a lot of excitement” and even proclaimed that he won; however, he told Dagher to keep it under wraps.

“He actually came back to the window and said, ‘I know I won something, but don’t say anything aloud, and tell me if it’s true’,” Dagher told the California Lottery, adding that her coworker checked the ticket and “was excited about the sale.”

Any winning player can come forward to claim their prize by either mailing the ticket in or by visiting one of nine California Lottery offices

The O.C. Fair is not the only chance SoCal residents have to visit the CA Lottery LIVE! booth; a lottery booth has also been set up at the Ventura County Fair.

Better get there fast, though, as the lottery booths seem to be quite popular.

“People actually spend the day here,” Dagher said.  “We are loud and crazy in here.”
