Deputies reportedly shoot armed man inside Southern California grocery store

Deputies in San Bernardino County allegedly opened fire on an armed man at a Sprouts Farmers Market on Saturday night. 

According to preliminary information, the purported deputy-involved shooting occurred at 9:34 p.m. at the Sprouts located on Carnelian Street near 19th Street in Rancho Cucamonga. 

The circumstances surrounding the reported shooting remain unclear, but video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows one of the grocery store’s front doors shattered.

A person was seen being loaded into an ambulance; however, it is not clear if that person was the purportedly armed man, a responding deputy or a civilian. 

KTLA has reached out to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for more information.
