Man taken to hospital after being pulled from suburban lake

LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. – A man was taken to the hospital after being pulled from the waters of Woodscreek Lake in Lake in the Hills Saturday afternoon.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department said the 32-year-old man and his friend were swimming together in Woodscreek Lake near the LaBahn Hain House, located in the 100 block of Hilltop Drive, when the man appeared unconscious and unresponsive at the water’s surface.

The victim’s friend and two nearby fishermen pulled him out of the water and began resuscitation efforts until police officers arrived. Officers performed CPR until personnel with the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District arrived and took the victim to Huntley Northwestern Hospital, according to investigators.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time and no other information was released.
