Man critically injured in hit-and-run crash while riding 'motorized bike'

CHICAGO – A man was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash while riding a motorized bike Saturday night in Austin.

Chicago police said the crash happened just after 10:15 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Chicago Avenue.

A man was traveling westbound on a motorized bike when he was hit from behind by a red Jeep. The Jeep drove off after hitting the man, who suffered injuries to his head, according to investigators.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
