Crash on 10 Freeway involving at least 5 vehicles hospitalizes 2 people

US

A multi-vehicle pileup on the 10 Freeway sent two people to the hospital early Saturday morning.

Initial reports indicate that the collision occurred just after 3:15 a.m. on the eastbound span of the 10 near the Crenshaw Avenue exit in L.A.’s West Adams neighborhood.

Video posted to the Citizen App shows one vehicle on its roof; two other mangled vehicles were seen on the other side of the road while first responders blocked off the area in the immediate aftermath of the collision.

CHP officials told KTLA that the initial crash was caused by a motorist striking another vehicle that stalled on the highway and was followed by “at least three to four” other vehicles hitting the two that had already crashed.

Both victims that were taken to the hospital were said to have sustained moderate injuries.

It was not immediately known if impairment or speed were factors in the crash, and the affected stretch of freeway was reopened just before 5 a.m., CHP said.
