Aaron Taylor-Johnson is known for his rugged good looks — but he recently changed up his appearance in a major way.

The Avengers star, 34, showed off his new, clean-shaven transformation via his since-expired Instagram Story on Thursday, August 1.

“From one look.. to another,” the English actor captioned the before-and-after photos, per Page Six. in the “before” shot, Taylor-Johnson — clad in a pink linen button-down — sported a thick, scruffy beard and slicked-back, wavy hair that nearly touched his shoulders. The “after” featured the Bullet Train star taking a sunlit mirror selfie at the gym, his beard completely gone — save for some scruff — and a closer-cropped haircut. (Despite his changing appearance, one thing stayed the same in both photos: the teal-and-gold pendant that dangled from his necklace.)

While Taylor-Johnson’s hair and beard transformation was undoubtedly a major change-up from his typical scruffy vibe, he’s also rocked the clean-shaven look from time to time.

Earlier this summer, the Fall Guy actor posed on the cover of GQ Mexico sans beard, though his signature mop of curly hair was still in the picture (literally).

Though Taylor-Johnson opted to share his new ‘do on Instagram, being on social media — and in the spotlight — hasn’t always been easy for the actor, whose 23-year age-gap romance with wife Sam Taylor-Johnson has often been the subject of a lot of chatter.

“You can have something really positive [written about you], but you can also have something really negative that can circulate,” he told Vanity Fair in 2023. “You just want to stay in your lane, stay grounded, stay around the people that you love and love you back, and stay in that world.”

In fact, Aaron told the outlet, he tries to steer clear of the talk altogether.

“Because the moment you start believing the s*** people say about you, you’ve lost your f***ing mind,” he explained. “You’ve lost it.”
