Tuesday forecast: Humidity increasing, chance for afternoon showers and storms

US

It’s been a nice stretch of dry, mostly sunny weather in Chicagoland, but some rain could return to the area later Tuesday and into Wednesday.

Tuesday morning has dawned with clear skies and pleasant temperatures, reaching 70 in some locations.

A southwest breeze will elevate humidity levels into Tuesday afternoon, with highs reaching the mid-80s. A line of showers and storms is also projected to move into the area during the afternoon and could create a soggy evening commute.

Showers could then linger overnight into the Wednesday morning commute.

A nice lake breeze will keep things a little cooler for the end of the week, but heat and humidity looks to spike again by the weekend, with temps possibly reaching 90 by Sunday and into next week.
