Interstate 70 is closed in both directions between Parachute and Rifle for a brush fire, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Fire crews were responding to a brush fire near Rulison at approximately 3:43 p.m., the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on Facebook.

The highway is closed between exit 75 for Parachute and exit 90 for Colorado 13 and Rifle. Drivers can detour using U.S. 6.

The westbound closure extends to exit 94 for Garfield County Regional Airport because of a crash between it and exit 90, according to CDOT.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
