The CharlieCard Store is about to refill its card. The MBTA announced a overhaul of the CharlieCard Store, now called the Charlie Service Center, on Monday.

The store will reopen at a new location on July 29. Riders can visit the new store at 296 Washington St. in downtown Boston, near the State Street T station.

“New name. New location. Same great service,” the MBTA said in a post on X.

The CharlieCard Store has been operating out of temporary offices since September of 2023. In a press release from July of last year, the MBTA announced they had to close down the original CharlieCard Store offices due to “an air conditioning maintenance issue within the store.”

Per the MBTA website, you can visit the new Charlie Service Center to:

  • Add credit to a RIDE account
  • Buy passes for any mode
  • Replace a damaged or expired CharlieCard
  • Request a Senior CharlieCard, Transportation Access Pass (TAP), or Blind Access Pass
  • Process a name change on a Senior CharlieCard, Transportation Access Pass (TAP), or Blind Access Pass with a valid ID
