David Banda, Madonna‘s 18-year-old son, is clarifying the remarks he recently made on social media about “scavenging” for food after moving out of her place.

The attention-grabbing remarks on Instagram ignited rumors Banda was facing hard times since moving out of his mother’s New York City digs.

To address the budding controversy, the native Malawian took to Instagram Sunday night to quell any misunderstanding.

“TO ALL OF THOSE CONCERNED,” Banda wrote. “My mother is very supportive of me. She has always been supportive of me. I am very happy in my life and I am not living out on the streets, starving!”

The budding musician, who teaches virtual guitar lessons, is one of  Madonna’s six children. In 2008, the Queen of Pop  — and then-husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchieadopted him after visiting Malawi during a humanitarian trip to the country in 2006.

According to People, the recent high school graduate told a follower that he “likes living” on his own in his original post.

“It’s lovely to experience it being 9 o’clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don’t have enough money to get food, but we don’t have enough food in the house and scavenging,” he joked, adding that “it’s fun.”

“I love it,” he added, noting: “I’m not on my own, I’ve got my girlfriend” — referring to his girlfriend, model Maria Atuesta.
