Man, 23, drowns in Lake Michigan at Leone Beach: CPD

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man drowned in Lake Michigan at Leone Beach overnight.

The incident happened just before midnight Monday in the 1200 block of West Touhy Avenue in Rogers Park.

According to authorities, police and the Chicago Fire Department responded to a person in distress and spoke with a witness who told officers that a 23-year-old man was last seen in the water..

Officials conducted a search of the area and the man was recovered from the water.

He was transported to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Area Three Detectives are investigating.
