East Dundee is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for a new parking garage in the downtown district.

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at 304 Hill St. The two-level garage, which is expected to cost $6.5 million, will provide 130 parking spaces and 6,000 square feet of retail space off River Street.

After the ceremony, guests are invited to the village’s Thirsty Thursday event at the Depot. The village’s parking garage contractor will be available at the event to share information about the project.
