Police share new surveillance photo of missing Skokie woman amid ongoing search

SKOKIE, Ill. — Authorities are offering new details in the search for an elderly woman who went missing from her condominium in Skokie on Monday afternoon.

82-year-old Tsering Wangyal was reported missing on Monday and Skokie police say she was last seen in the 9500 block of Bronx Place at around 3:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Skokie police provided a photo of Wangyal that was captured by surveillance cameras, just after 6 p.m. Monday, at Levy Center in the 300 block of Dodge Avenue, in Evanston.

82-year-old Tsering Wangyal was reported missing on Monday and Skokie police say she was last seen in the 9500 block of Bronx Place at around 3:30 p.m.

The newly released photo is the latest development in the days-long search for the missing woman.

Wangyal, who stands 5-foot-1 and weighs 160 pounds, has silver hair and brown eyes, she is also known to wear glasses.

Police say the missing woman may be wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt, light pants and house slippers, the same clothes she was spotted wearing in the newly released surveillance image.

On Wednesday, Wangyal’s daughter, Tenzin, told WGN-TV that she believes her mother may have been on her way to a prayer service at the Tibetan Alliance of Chicago (TAC) in Evanston before she went missing.

Tenzin told WGN-TV that her parents lived together in a condo in the Skokie area, near Golf Road and Skokie Boulevard near Old Orchard.

Tenzin said her mother was seen on surveillance camera leaving the building around 3:55 p.m. Monday.

According to investigators, there is no indication of foul play.
