HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway in southwest Houston after a suspect was reportedly shot by law enforcement just before noon on Saturday, according to the Houston Police Department.

The situation unfolded in the 12600 block of Westheimer at Dairy Ashford near a cemetery.

HPD sent out a post on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that police arrived at the scene after someone called law enforcement, saying a man armed with a knife was attempting to stab another person.

Officials said once officers came, a small foot chase ensued before an officer discharged their weapon, striking the knife-wielding man.

It is unclear what the suspect’s condition or injuries are.

No other information was relayed, as HPD said the scene was still active.
