Little Girl’s Reaction as Parents Give In, Finally Let Her Adopt a Cat

US

Every child asks for a pet at least once. This asking might turn into years of begging, which can eventually get the parents to cave. At least that’s what happened to a family in Arizona.

A daughter kept bugging her parents to get a cat. They held firm for a while, but in a June 29 TikTok video posted by @nanciivonne, the parents finally give in to their daughter’s request with a surprise trip to a Phoenix animal shelter.

The clip starts with the parents offering their daughter to pick a card. Each of the two cards had an option that the daughter could not see: adopt a kitty or buy dog food. Whichever one the daughter selected would determine the task they did that day.

The family loaded into the car and headed out without revealing the card she had selected. When they got to the location, the parents made her close her eyes as they guided her toward the door. The daughter opened her eyes and instantly gasped. She couldn’t believe the day had finally come for her to get a cat.

The caption reads: “Finally gave in to Jaylo’s request for a kitty.”

Screenshots from a TikTok video show parents surprising their daughter by bringing her to an animal rescue facility, where they let her select a kitten.

The daughter’s smile never left the entire time she was in the shelter looking at cats. The clip shows her holding two kittens. She held both the orange cat and the gray one with love and admiration. Even her dad joined in, bonding with the gray kitty, which is the one they adopted.

But the family needed to wait about four days until it was allowed to take the kitten home. A follow-up video explained that the cat needed to weigh at least 2 pounds before surgery, which went well. Then she went home with her forever family.
