Residents in parts of Los Angeles can apply for a free air purifier

Residents in some Los Angeles neighborhoods can qualify for a free air purifier as part of the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s residential air filtration program.

Those eligible for the free portable air purifier are residents within a certain boundary in Los Angeles. The boundaries include Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles and some areas on the west side of Commerce.

The program also includes residents in the Eastern Coachella Valley.

Applications will be fulfilled on a first come, first serve basis, according to the South Coast AQMD.

Applicants need to provide the first page of a utility bill and a property tax statement to verify their residence.
