Hot weather moving out of Chicago, cooler weather moving in, in the wake of a cold frontal passage

While it was cooler Tuesday, temperatures still finished modestly above normal. July sunshine continues to disappoint, running below normal. 

No sign of hot weather for the foreseeable future as a string of cooler than normal days settles in. 

Heat relief ahead for much of the Midwest and Eastern U.S. 

223 million residents sweltered in 90 degree or hotter heat Tuesday, by Thursday that number will drop to less than 124 million.
