Man, teen shot at CTA bus turnaround in Gresham

CHICAGO — A man and a teen boy were shot during an armed robbery late Monday night at a CTA bus turnaround in Gresham.

Officers responded to the 7900 block of South Halsted on the report of a shooting and robbery.

Police believe a 39-year-old man was standing at a CTA bus turnaround with a 17-year-old boy when a gunman approached. The man demanded the 39-year-old’s property and fired shots.

The man was shot in the back and abdomen. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

The 17-year-old was also shot in the legs. A condition was not provided for him.

No one is in custody.
