A 63-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 6:10 a.m., a man suffered trauma to the body after being struck by a vehicle in the 10700 block of South Emerald Avenue. Details were not immediately available on the circumstances leading up to the fatal accident.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
