2 men seriously wounded when gunman fires at group in Bridgeport neighborhood – Chicago Tribune

Two men were seriously wounded Saturday morning as they were standing on a sidewalk with a group in the Bridgeport neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after midnight, the victims were with a group gathered on the sidewalk in the 800 block of West 31st Street when someone opened fire striking a 31-year-old man to the left side of his neck. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Another man, 26, was shot to the right buttock and got himself to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
