Police continued to investigate on Monday after two boys were shot and injured at a McDonald’s in the Bronx over the weekend, according to the NYPD.

The department said officers responded around 10 p.m. on Saturday to a 911 call about two people shot at 2516 White Plains Rd., where the McDonald’s is located. They found a 12-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his left leg and back and a 13-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his thigh.

Police said first responders took the victims to nearby Jacobi Hospital and they were both expected to recover.

On Monday, the NYPD released surveillance footage from the McDonald’s that showed the alleged gunman wearing a dark hoodie and face mask. Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782); or submit tips at the hotline’s website.

A representative of the McDonald’s could not be immediately reached for comment.

This is a developing story based on preliminary information from police and may be updated.
