HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Hurricane Beryl made landfall on Matagorda County on Monday at 4 a.m., leading to a rising number of power outages in southeast Texas.

According to CenterPoint Energy’s outage tracker, more than 533,700 customers were without power at 6 a.m., and that number is expected to quickly grow.
Galveston is among the areas where the power is out.
