2 dead in north Austin single-vehicle crash, EMS says

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash in north Austin on Thursday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Austin Police and EMS responded to the crash on the Research Boulevard southbound service road near Ohlen Road. It happened just before 5:15 p.m.

ACTEMS posted to X that medics were on the scene for a vehicle rescue for two patients — both adults who were pronounced dead.

Austin Transportation and Public Works previously said the crash blocked several lanes, but as of 8:24 p.m., police said the roadway was back open.
