HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — One person has been detained and another suspect remains on the loose after Harris County Precinct 4 says its deputies and other law enforcement officers were led on a chase involving a stolen vehicle towing a boat early Thursday morning.

Houston Transtar cameras captured the pursuit on I-45 North at Calvacade at about 3:48 a.m.

The suspects started driving the wrong way when they approached the Eastex Freeway and Will Clayton Parkway, according to Rangecast audio.

“Traffic is none. We’re at 80, still going the wrong way. Just myself and King-11. We’re approaching Will Clayton Parkway right now. Y’all back off of him,” an officer can be heard saying in dispatch audio.

Speeds reached up to at least 98 miles per hour, according to the audio.

Houston and Sugar Land police officers, as well as Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies aided in the chase, according to a tweet from Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.
