1 dead, 2 injured in northwest Austin overnight crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person died and two others were seriously injured in a crash in northwest Austin overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS said on X medics responded shortly after midnight to a crash between two vehicles in the 11800 block of Research Boulevard Northbound.

Three people were involved in the crash, and one of them was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated.

ATCEMS said one adult was pronounced dead on the scene and two other were transported to St. David’s Round Rock. One of them had critical, life-threatening injuries, and the other had potentially serious injuries, according to EMS.
