The shiny monolith that mysteriously appeared on a farm in Northern Colorado has been removed.
Lori Graves, the owner of Morning Fresh Dairy Farm in Bellvue, told The Denver Post earlier this week it was a possibility after hundreds of people swarmed her property to get a look at the 9-foot-tall edifice. Some also caused damage to the natural environment, she said.
On Wednesday, the farm posted pictures of a tractor and crews removing the structure on Facebook.
“We took ‘the Monolith’ down and are keeping it safe. If you are the creator and would like it back, please email HowlingCowCafe@gmail.com. Why? Due to the overwhelming influx of people on the farm,” the post read.
The monolith in Bellvue was one of two that recently popped up after a string of similar structures captured headlines in 2020. They inspired awe and speculation among internet sleuths because no one seemed to know where they came from.
