CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — People in a Cedar Park neighborhood are sheltering in place while police respond to a “barricaded subject.”

The Cedar Park Police Department said in a post on X at 7:48 a.m. officers were on the scene of a “barricaded subject” in the 400 block of Cypress Creek Boulevard. That area is just west of Highway 183A off Brushy Creek Loop.

Police said the scene is at Cedar Park Townhomes.

Police said they were called to the scene around 5:20 a.m. and that the scene was still active as of 8:30 a.m. while Central Texas SWAT negotiators were working to resolve the incident.

Police don’t believe anyone else is inside the home. They did not specify what type of call they were responding to.

Police said a shelter-in-place notice was issued to surrounding neighbors as a precaution.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
