Justin Timberlake appeared to reference his recent drunk driving arrest with a joke during his concert at TD Garden over the weekend.

The musician was charged on June 18 with driving while intoxicated after police said he ran a stop sign and veered out of his lane in Sag Harbor, New York. The 43-year-old told officers in the Hamptons village he’d had one martini and was following friends home, but he allegedly refused a breath test at the police station, according to the Associated Press.

During his Saturday night performance at TD Garden, his first in a set of two Boston shows on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, Timberlake seemed to allude to his recent arrest.

“So, uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving… no I’m kidding,” he said, captured in videos posted on social media.

The singer got serious following the crowd’s response to his joke, according to People magazine.

“Is there anyone here tonight, that it’s your first time here to the show? Is there anybody here that you’ve been to 1, 2, 3, maybe 4 of our shows?” he said, according to People. “For all of you that it’s your first time tonight — on a serious note — I hope that you feel the fellowship and the love.”

Timberlake’s next court date related to his arrest is July 26 but he does not need to appear in person, the Associated Press reported.
