NYPD cops trade shots with fleeing suspect in Brooklyn after car chase from Queens

Police traded gunshots with a running suspect after a car chase from Queens into Brooklyn Saturday night, police said.

No injuries were reported from the incident, which began shortly after 8 p.m. when officers from the 114 Precinct tried to conduct a car stop at 36th Ave. and 34th St. in Astoria, Queens. Cops said the driver fled the scene in his car, with the cops in hot pursuit.
The chase ended 2 1/2 miles later when the suspect crashed his car into another car at 406 Kingsland Ave. in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and fled on foot.
During the foot chase, the suspect and cops exchanged gunshots, but no one was injured, police said.
The suspect was later found and arrested, they said.
There was no further information immediately available.
