Nassau County police have arrested six suspects believed to have been involved in a double-slashing after a high school graduation ceremony on Long Island.

An adult and a student were reportedly cut outside Hofstra University’s sports complex in Hempstead following Wednesday’s afternoon commencement for Academy Charter High Schools.

A press release from the Nassau County Police Department on Thursday said six men ranging in age from 18 to 23 had been taken into custody in connection to the attack.

The suspects were identified as Devon Fenner, Zachariah Fulton, Taiwan Jackson, Devon Moore, Isaiah Moore and Unique Pruitt. But all Isaiah Moore, who’s from Uniondale, reside in Hempstead.

“Upon arrival, it was determined that two male victims were involved in an altercation,” according to Nassau County authorities. “The altercation escalated and resulted in one victim being slashed on the back of his left thigh and one victim was slashed on his right ear.”

It’s unclear which man was involved in the initial altercation, which Academy Charter High Schools said was believed to be related to a domestic dispute. The identities of the victims names have not been released, nor has their relationship to any of the alleged attackers.

The arrests followed a short investigation despite school officials saying in a statement the attackers were wearing masks.

All six men are charged with attempted gang assault and weapon possession. They were scheduled for arraignment Thursday.
