Mount Prospect firefighters are battling a multi-alarm blaze at an apartment complex on the 1800 block of W. Palm Drive late Monday.
The fire was reported just before 7 p.m., there’s no word yet on any injuries.
Firefighters have taken a defensive position to battle the fire with multiple neighboring agencies assisting in the attack at the three-story complex with a mansard-style roof, which is notorious for enabling fires to spread rapidly.
Mount Prospect police have closed Palm Drive west of Busse Road, and Busse Road is closed between Golf Road and Willows Lane.
