A 19-year-old woman last seen wading in a river in a video on a recovered phone has been found dead, Utah sheriff’s officials told news outlets.

A hiker found the unattended phone in the Dry Creek Canyon area of Horsetail Falls around 3 p.m. Friday, June 7, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office told KTVX. Officials said the phone had been set up to record a video.

A video on the phone showed the woman walking into the river, officials told KUTV.

Searchers found the woman’s body below Horsetail Falls later that night and it was recovered Saturday, June 8, officials told KSL. They returned her dog and belongings to her family.

Officials believe the woman was swept away by the swift, cold current, the station reported.

Horsetail Falls is about 35 miles south from Salt Lake City.
