Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is moving from the sidelines to the spotlight.

Following the end of a 24-year reign as the leader of football’s most prolific franchise, Belichick is preparing to sign a deal with the Manning brothers on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli,” according to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand

The show, produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, has not reached an official agreement with Belichick, though it’s moving in that direction, according to Marchand.

Belichick would reportedly likely appear on the “Manningcast” in a recurring role. The “Manningcast” aired during 10 of ESPN’s 25 NFL games last season.

In addition to his potential spot with the Mannings, Belichick is also nearing a book deal with an advance that’s “well into the seven figures,” according to Marchand. The book is reportedly expected to be about leadership.

Belichick has also spoken with different audio platforms about potentially starting a podcast, Marchand reported.

The 72-year-old’s first media obligation is on Thursday, when he makes his highly-anticipated appearance as an analyst on “The Pat McAfee Show” during the NFL Draft.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Belichick said when he announced he’d be joining McAfee’s show for its Draft Day coverage. “Draft Day, draft weekend is always an exciting time for everybody.”

The simulcast begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, 30 minutes prior to the start of the draft.

While Belichick has a few media deals lined up, it’s been reported on multiple occasions that he still wants to coach again. The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach is 15 wins shy of Don Shula’s all-time record.
