One man dead, one injured after South Chicago shooting, police say – Chicago Tribune

One man was killed and another was injured after a shooting in South Chicago early Saturday morning, police said.

Shortly before 2 a.m., the men, both 42, where standing outside in the 2500 block of East 83rd Street when shots were fired striking both victims, police said.

One of the victims was struck to the neck, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man suffered two wounds to the chest, and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
