Gunshots heard during standoff with domestic violence suspect in Los Angeles

A man who barricaded himself inside a home in the Harbor City neighborhood of Los Angeles Tuesday may have fired shots inside the residence, police said.

Officers were called to the 26200 block of President Avenue regarding a domestic violence situation just after 9 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Detective Aguilar said.

Authorities believe the suspect is armed and officers reported possibly hearing gunshots from inside the home, although they did not think the shooter was aiming at them, Aguilar said.

The suspect is believed to be alone inside the home.

Aguilar did not provide information on the identity of the suspect.
