A New York man who coaches volleyball for two schools on Long Island has been arrested on suspicion he sexually assaulted one of his teenage players, authorities said Friday.

Jason Maser, 22, of Syosset, is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl on two different occasions earlier this year, Detective Sergeant Juan Giron with the Nassau County Police Department said in a statement.

Both incidents occurred in Albertson, N.Y., according to Giron — once on Feb. 7, then again on March 7.

At the time of the alleged assaults, Maser was employed as a volleyball coach for Sacred Heart Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in Hempstead. He also worked at B & B Volleyball, an Albertson-based volleyball club that offers training for both the indoor and beach versions of the sport.

Maser was arrested at his residence on Thursday and charged with two counts of third-degree rape, two counts of third-degree criminal sexual act, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He’s expected to appear at First District Court in Hempstead later on Friday to answer to the charges.

Representatives for both Sacred Heart and B & B didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

As of Friday morning, Maser’s name did not appear on the staff page on B & B’s website as one of its coaches.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have been victimized by Maser to please contact the Special Victims Squad Detectives at (516) 573-4022 or Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
