Human skeleton found in Southern California

An investigation is underway after a human skeleton was found in the High Desert region of San Bernardino County on Wednesday.

The remains were found in a desert area near Amboy Road and Shelton Road in Wonder Valley, and the Coroner’s Office determined the skeleton was human, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The investigation is intended to discern the identity of the person who died, as well as the cause and manner of death, which will be determined by an autopsy.
