Gold Coast restaurant, Fig & Olive, to close Sunday

CHICAGO (WGN) — Fig & Olive, a popular restaurant in the city’s Gold Coast neighborhood, is set to close by the end of the day Sunday, sources confirm to WGN News.

A Mediterranean restaurant centered around the cuisine of the French Riviera, From paper-thin carpaccios, fruity blood orange infused olive oil, supple burrata, or an aged balsamic vinegar, the restaurant’s website said they serve every dish without compromise, with their approach to cooking inspired by the regional love of premium-quality olive oil free of heavy sauces and creams, just fresh flavors that are key to the Mediterranean Diet.

Before closing its doors Sunday, the restaurant opened in Chicago in July 2014. The original Fig & Olive opened in New York City in 2005.
