Decapitated Bob's Big Boy statue gets Halloween makeover

A partially decapitated Bob’s Big Boy statue in Downey was given new life recently in true Frankenstein fashion.

“IT’S ALIVE !! 💚,” @bobsbigboybroiler posted on its Instagram account Friday after “Bob” was given a new brain and painted green for the Halloween season.

The statue in front of Bob’s Big Boy on Firestone Boulevard near Old River School Road lost a large portion of its head when a fire hydrant was sent flying toward it after being sheared by a vehicle in August.

Since then, a sign reading “Don’t worry, I’ll be back!” has been seen on “Bob’s” chest.

In September, “Bob” was even given a green hat to cover the portion of his missing cranium.

The situation has lent itself perfectly for Halloween however, as the restaurant plans to host a Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 31, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
