CHICAGO – A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a deadly shooting in Logan Square from August 2023.
Chicago police said 40-year-old Carmelo Aviles was arrested in the 3800 block of West Huron Street after detectives identified him as the individual who shot into a vehicle in the 3400 block West Fullerton Avenue during the early morning hours of Aug. 20, 2023.
A 19-year-old man was killed in the shooting, according to investigators.
Police said four other people were inside the vehicle, but were not injured.
Aviles has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
