Man killed after argument leads to shooting in River North

CHICAGO — A man is dead after a fight led to a shooting on the Near North Side early Saturday morning.

According to Chicago police, the deadly shooting unfolded just before 4 a.m. in the 100 block of West Hubbard Street, in River North.

Officers said the victim, a 24-year-old man was involved in a physical altercation with another individual who pulled out a gun and opened fire in the victim’s direction.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his body and was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said a person of interest was taken in for questioning following the incident.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed and an investigation is ongoing.
