Neighborhood parks in Arvada, Denver receive more than $15 million for improvements

Denver’s La Alma-Lincoln Park and Arvada’s Gold Strike Park together recently received $15.7 million in federal grant money, it was announced Thursday.

The Department of the Interior awarded the money from its Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Grants Program, part of $254 million awarded to support 54 projects that support local parks in underserved communities across the United States. The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership is part of the Land and Water Conservation Fund and is managed by the National Park Service.
