A man was found critically stabbed and unresponsive Friday morning inside a residence in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 6 a.m., police discovered a man described as between 30 to 40 years of age inside of a residence in the 7900 block of South Normal Avenue. The man was unresponsive and had suffered a stab wound to the back, police said.

He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.

Detectives were investigating.
