Re: “Why make toll lanes confusing?” Oct. 3 letter to the editor.

The reader from Golden is spot on about the confusing and convoluted entry to C-470 from any direction, Interstate 25 North or South, or E-470 from the east. I make that entrance to C-470 several times a month. My attention is split several ways between road lines and other vehicles beside me or overtaking me. This is a disaster/ serious high-speed wreck waiting to happen — if it hasn’t already. Surely, the toll authorities and designers of this intersection must see this. I would be very concerned if I was one of them that my work could lead to serious injury or death.

Antisocial driving at Yale and Holly

Re: “Let’s return to the social contract,” Sept. 21 letter to the editor

Kudos to the reader for his letter regarding the social contract. In my neighborhood, one of the worst intersections is Yale Avenue and South Holly Street.  It alarms me to witness the daily number of folks driving east and west on Yale who sail right through red lights.

“Please do not vote to place abortion in our Constitution”

The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I ask you to remember this when you are faced with a bill to lock abortion in our state Constitution.

Abortion is not a good — or even a neutral — act. It interferes with the growth of an embryo, which would eventually produce a child. Because of the place where we find ourselves morally, it may be tolerated but not elevated. Please do not vote to place abortion in our Constitution.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg often spoke of the end of Roe vs. Wade, saying its basis would not hold up to scrutiny.

I read the editorial page last week and found it is very left-leaning. I am a Christian and I have never been advised that I should “hate” people or children who are confused about their sexuality.  It is not part of our message.

Colorado does not and should not shy away from innovation, especially when that innovation means a happier and healthier future for our pets. That’s why I’m voting yes on the Veterinary Professional Associate measure (Proposition 129), which qualified for the November ballot.
