CHICAGO — A Cook County inmate was indicted after allegedly possessing a drug-soaked strip of paper found in a greeting card.
Fabian Villagomez, 41, was allegedly found with the strip of paper on June 9 during medication distribution. It was sent to the Illinois State Police lab for testing and came back positive for a synthetic cannabinoid, according to authorities.
He was indicted on the charge of possession of contraband in a penal institution on Sept. 23. On Sept. 12, authorities said he pleaded guilty to receiving/possessing a stolen vehicle on Sept. 12.
Villagomez is the 46th person charged this year in connection with possessing or smuggling drug-soaked paper into the jail.
