A 14-year-old boy was in critical condition after being wounded Tuesday evening on the South Side in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 7800 block of South Marshfield Avenue and found a boy struck by gunfire. The boy had suffered multiple wounds to the body, and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
