APD identifies pedestrian hit by 2 vehicles in deadly east Austin crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department identified the pedestrian killed in a deadly crash that happened last week in east Austin, the agency said in a news release Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 4600 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 25. The crash involved two vehicles that hit a pedestrian. The first driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The second driver left the scene without stopping or calling 911, according to police.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene and was identified by police Tuesday as 28-year-old Kameron Hartman.

This is being investigated as Austin’s 66th fatal crash of 2024, according to police.
