8 arrested in Southern California prostitution bust

Eight people were arrested during a prostitution bust in Los Angeles County.

The sting operation targeted sex purchasers in the area near Indian Hill Boulevard and the 10 Freeway in Claremont.

Claremont Police had received complaints from residents and community members regarding prostitution in the area.

During the operation on Sept. 26, undercover officers posed as sex workers and solicited people in the area.

Seven suspects were taken into custody for the alleged solicitation of prostitution:

  • Hugo Alvarado, 21, from Pomona
  • Amer Almnajjed, 24, from Fontana
  • Noah Negrete, 25, from Chino
  • Kevin Fuentes, 30, from Walnut
  • Federico Guerrero, 35, from Fontana
  • David Allen Abernathy, 55, from Pomona
  • John Louis Cano, 57, from Montclair

The eighth suspect, Deantae Jeremiah Choates, 24, from Marina was arrested when he attempted to “pimp and pander” an undercover officer. 

The operation was a joint effort by the Claremont Police Department along with the Glendora Police Department, Upland Police Department, Irwindale Police Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation.

All suspects were booked and later released on citations with a pending court appearance at Pomona Superior Court.
